The minimum wage in Connecticut is $14.00 per hour effective July 1, 2022. The minimum wage will increase to $15.00 per hour effective June 1, 2023.
Employers are required to post the Connecticut minimum wage poster in a conspicuous place where employees can see it. The poster can be downloaded for free from the Connecticut Department of Labor website.
Exceptions to the Minimum Wage
There are a few exceptions to the Connecticut minimum wage. These exceptions include:
- Employees who are younger than 18 years old
- Employees who are tipped employees
- Employees who are working in certain agricultural occupations
- Employees who are working in certain retail or service occupations
