Florida Workers’ Compensation Law is a set of laws that governs the rights and benefits of employees who are injured or become ill as a result of their work in the state of Florida. The law requires most employers in Florida to carry workers’ compensation insurance or provide equivalent benefits to their employees.
Under Florida Workers’ Compensation Law, injured employees are entitled to medical treatment and compensation for lost wages if their injury or illness is work-related. In cases where an employee is unable to return to work due to their injury or illness, they may be eligible for disability benefits.
To receive benefits under Florida Workers’ Compensation Law, employees must report their injury or illness to their employer within 30 days of the incident. Employers are then required to report the injury or illness to their workers’ compensation insurance provider.
In addition to medical and disability benefits, Florida Workers’ Compensation Law also provides death benefits to the families of employees who are killed on the job. These benefits may include compensation for funeral expenses and financial support for dependents.
